Atkins with support from the Festival of Architecture 2017
Pidgin Perfect designed and delivered a series participatory workshops with groups of young people aged 9 to 11 years old with the ambition of raising their awareness of urban issues, contemporary architecture and the people who inhabit the places where we live, work and play.
Through informal and creative activities, the young people were invited to explore their urban built environment from perspectives both strange and familiar.
Importantly, guiding the young people to better observe, understand and enjoy architecture, to care for their city and to be critical of it, and to become active citizens in what they identify to be a more sustainable future.
The content of the workshops were developed in line with the criteria for the UK’s National Curriculum for Excellence and the UN’s Right of the Child convention.
